3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 0.37kW And 1 WPDX 60)

The 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 0.37kW And 1 WPDX 60) is a gearbox line combined by a 2-stage gearbox and an additional mechanical speed variator to form a 3-stage gearbox. It is designed to provide stepless speed regulation, stable speed, and high torque at low speeds, helping operators customize stepless rotation speed smoothly, serving final reduction and torque stabilization duties. With a compact design, it is suitable for various industrial sectors requiring high precision and durability.

Overview of the 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 0.37kW And 1 WPDX 60)

The 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 0.37kW And 1 WPDX 60) is a specialized drive system for applications requiring ultra-slow output speeds, flexible speed regulation, and powerful torque. Thanks to the combination of three continuous transmission stages, the device delivers low yet stable speeds, high efficiency, and durable operation in industrial environments. The coaxial design ensures easy installation, compatibility with various motor lines, and an optimized structure to reduce vibration and noise while increasing overall system stability.

Structure of the 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL And 1 WPDX)

The 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 0.37kW And 1 WPDX 60) is formed by combining a 0.37kW 0.5Hp mechanical speed variator with a 2-stage UDL 0.37kW – WPDX 60 gearbox, structured as follows:

Structure of the mechanical speed variator:

• Friction disc – cone disc: Conical discs change contact positions, creating a stepless output speed range and ensuring stable initial speed.
• Input shaft – output shaft: The input shaft receives motion from the motor; the output shaft transmits the adjusted, stable, and smooth speed.
• Adjustment mechanism: A dial or lever adjusts the pressing force between the discs, allowing flexible high-low speed changes.
• Protective housing & bearings: Cast iron/aluminum metal housing protects the entire mechanism, combined with bearings and oil seals to reduce friction, increase lifespan, and ensure quiet operation.

Structure of the 2-stage UDL 0.37kW – WPDX 60 gearbox:

• Stage 1: UDL variator precisely and smoothly fine-tunes speed: Installed in series with the first UDL, the second variator assembly receives the reduced speed and continues detailed adjustment.
• Stage 2: WPDX 60 worm gearbox delivers high torque, integrated with a solid cast-iron housing, precisely ground deep-thread worm shaft, bronze alloy worm wheel, and dual oil seals to prevent leakage. The WPDX 60 is responsible for heavy speed reduction, stable power transmission, and long-term durability.
• Cone disc system and low-friction sliding bushings help maintain stable speed, minimize jerking, and ensure transmission smoothness.
• Shaft – bearing – transmission linkage system: Includes input shaft – intermediate shaft – output shaft along with load-bearing bearings, helping the entire 3-stage system operate synchronously, smoothly, and stably.

Technical specifications of the WPDX 60 worm gearbox

The dimensional parameters and important installation information of the WPDX 60 worm gearbox line are presented specifically as follows:

Applications of the 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 0.37kW And 1 WPDX 60)

This 3-stage gearbox is connected to an electric motor, more specifically a 3-phase electric motor – 3-phase electric motor 0.37kW 0.5Hp, with applications in industries such:

• Product sorting conveyors: Flexibly adjust speed up or down to meet each stage in the production line.
• Screw conveyor and spiral feeding systems: Provide stable pulling force, helping the feeder convey materials evenly and accurately.
• Small-capacity agitators – mixers: Easily change speed to suit each mixing stage, from slow stirring to fast mixing.
• Packaging equipment – operating turntables: Require low, stable speeds with smooth speed switching capabilities to suit various product types.

How to install the WPDX gearbox and 2 UDL mechanical speed variators to form a 3-stage gearbox

Installing the 3-stage drive system requires high precision to ensure concentricity, helping the system operate smoothly and extending equipment lifespan. Below is the standard installation procedure for the combined system of 2 UDL mechanical speed variators and 1 WPDX worm gearbox.

• Connecting the first UDL to the second UDL: The output shaft of the first UDL will be connected directly to the input shaft of the second UDL via an intermediate flange.
• Connecting the 2 UDL assembly to the WPDX gearbox: After having the 2 UDL assembly, continue installing the output shaft of the second UDL into the input shaft of the WPDX gearbox. At this position, torque will be significantly increased, so make sure the connection between the output shaft of the second UDL and the input shaft of the WPDX is tightly secured with no backlash.

Important technical note: Concentricity is extremely important. If installed off-center, the system will vibrate heavily, causing bearing failure and oil seal damage in a short time. After installation, make sure the breather plug on the WPDX gearbox points upward.

Combining the pair of UDL 0.37kW mechanical speed variators and the WPDX 60 gearbox creates a perfect 3-stage gearbox system for applications requiring ultra-slow speeds and high torque. The product not only ensures high operational stability but also enhances efficiency for production lines requiring high precision.
