Structure of ZQ 1-Stage Gearboxes
The ZQ 1-Stage Gearbox is the most basic and simplest type of gearbox in the ZQ series, likened to a box containing two gears: a small gear and a large gear.
- Housing: Typically made of sturdy cast steel, its function is to protect internal components from dust and impact. The housing also contains lubricating oil.
- Input shaft: This shaft is connected to the electric motor. It carries the small gear (driving gear).
- Output shaft: This shaft is connected to the working equipment. It carries the large gear (driven gear).
- Gears: Consists of a pair of large and small gears meshing with each other. A 1-Stage Gearbox has only this single pair of gears. They are typically helical gears for smooth operation.
- Bearings: Help the shafts rotate smoothly without vibration.
- Lubricating oil: Fills the gearbox, ensuring smooth rotation of the gears, preventing overheating, and reducing wear.
- Oil seal: The oil seal acts as a protective ring around the rotating shaft. It prevents valuable lubricating oil from leaking out of the gearbox and stops dust, water, or other contaminants from the external environment from entering the gearbox.
- Auxiliary drive unit: Includes couplings and pulleys, belts or sprockets, etc. These are connection components that enable the ZQ gearbox to work in conjunction and synchronize with the electric motor and the equipment it needs to drive.
Operating Principle of ZQ 1-Stage Gearboxes
The operating principle of ZQ 1-Stage Gearboxes is very easy to understand, similar to shifting from a small to a large sprocket on a bicycle:
- When the motor rotates rapidly, it causes the input shaft and the small gear mounted on it to rotate.
- The small gear rotates and transmits power to the meshing large gear. Because the large gear is bigger than the small gear, it will rotate slower, thus reducing the speed.
- Although the rotational speed is reduced, in return, the rotational force (torque) transmitted to the output shaft is significantly increased.
- Finally, the output shaft will rotate at a slower but more powerful speed to drive the load, for example, rotating the wheels of an overhead crane.
