Instructions for Adding Oil to the WPDKS Worm Gearbox

To add oil to the WPDKS worm gearbox correctly, follow these steps:

Step 1: Drain all old oil

Open the oil drain plug at the bottom of the gearbox to let the old oil drain completely. Prepare an oil collection tray, then clean the drain plug and reinstall it in the correct position.

Step 2: Open the oil filler plug

Remove the oil filler plug or breather plug on the gearbox housing to prepare for adding new oil and allow the oil to flow in easily.

Step 3: Add new oil

Use a funnel to slowly pour lubricating oil into the gearbox. Gear oil with an ISO VG 320 or ISO VG 460 viscosity grade should be used, depending on the operating conditions of the equipment.

Step 4: Check the oil level

Observe the oil sight glass and add oil to the specified level or about 2/3 of the oil sight glass. Do not overfill to avoid affecting operation.

Step 5: Completion and inspection

Reinstall the oil filler plug, wipe off any remaining oil on the gearbox housing, and check the threads and sealing gaskets before putting the equipment into operation.
