3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 2.2kW And 1 WPDX 120)

The 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 2.2kW And 1 WPDX 120) is a gearbox line combined by a mechanical speed variator (UDL) and a 2-stage gearbox to form a 3-stage gearbox with deep speed reduction efficiency and wide speed control capabilities. It helps the system operate stably at various speed modes, producing high torque and low yet stable speed at the final stage, meeting the demands of equipment requiring large pulling force during long-term operation.

Design Overview of 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 2.2kW And 1 WPDX 120)

The 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 2.2kW And 1 WPDX 120) features a sturdy and durable cast aluminum or cast iron construction. The outer shell is coated with anti-scratch powder coating and features an easy-to-install design ensuring high durability and stable operation. The two UDL stages are directly linked, expanding the speed adjustment range and increasing operational precision.

Structure of 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL and 1 WPDX)

The 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 2.2kW And 1 WPDX 120) has a unique structure assembled from the 2-stage gearbox UDL 2.2kW – WPDX 120 and a 2.2kW 3hp mechanical speed variator. The details are as follows:

Structure of the 2-stage gearbox UDL 2.2kW – WPDX 120:

• Stage 1 – UDL 0.8kW unit: Stepless speed adjustment via friction mechanism, providing a flexible speed range.
• Stage 2 – WPDO 120 worm gearbox consisting of a steel worm shaft and a bronze worm gear to create a large transmission ratio and high torque.
• WPDX input – output shaft: The input shaft receives the reduced speed from the UDL.
• Cast iron housing and lubrication system: Sturdy cast iron housing, lubricating gear oil helps the motor reduce friction and achieve high durability.

Structure of the mechanical speed variator:

• Dome-shaped friction disk mechanism helps adjust input speed continuously, accurately, and smoothly.
• Adjustment shaft integrated with anti-slip lock, helping to fix the desired speed.
• Speed variator chamber designed to reduce vibration and noise, suitable for continuous operation.
• Self-lubricating carbon-graphite sliding bushing helps reduce friction and increase lifespan.

Popular Applications of 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 2.2kW And 1 WPDX 120)

The 3-Stage Gearbox (2 UDL 2.2kW And 1 WPDX 120) is attached to an electric motor (specifically a 3-phase electric motor 2.2kW 3Hp) with many applications in industries such as:

• Industrial mixers: Animal feed mixing, powder mixing, chemical mixing.
• Crushers – calenders – presses: Plastic crushing, wood crushing, rubber calendering.
• Continuous speed adjustment conveyors: Drying conveyors, coal washing conveyors, product sorting conveyors, packaging conveyors.

How to Install WPDX Gearbox and 2 UDL Mechanical Speed Variators to Form a 3-Stage Gearbox

Installing the 3-stage transmission system requires meticulousness to ensure shaft concentricity and stable power transmission. Below is the standard 3-step process to connect 2 UDL mechanical speed variators and the WPDX 120 gearbox into a smooth operating system:

Step 1: Prepare equipment and tools

• Equipment check: Confirm that the 2 UDL 2.2kW speed variators and WPDX 120 gearbox are free of cracks and their shafts rotate smoothly.
• Cleaning: Clean the contact surfaces, flanges, and transmission shafts to ensure a complete and tight fit.

Step 2: Connect 2 UDL mechanical speed variators in series

• Stage 1 and Stage 2 connection: Install the output shaft of the first UDL unit into the input shaft of the second UDL unit.
• Use flange: Ensure using standard B5 flange to tightly connect the two UDL housings.
• Concentric alignment: Use a feeler gauge or specialized equipment to ensure the shaft centers of the 2 UDL units completely match. Eccentricity will cause strong vibration when operating at high speeds.

Step 3: Install the 2 UDL assembly into the WPDX gearbox

• Transmission shaft connection: The output shaft of the second UDL unit will be connected to the input shaft of the WPDX gearbox. Use a flexible coupling to minimize vibration transmitted from the speed variator to the gearbox.
• Install intermediate flange: Use an adapter flange suitable for the size 120 of WPDX. Tighten symmetrical bolts to ensure the gearbox housing and speed variator are firmly fixed on the base frame.
• Check fit: Ensure there are no gaps between the flanges to prevent dust or foreign objects from falling into the friction mechanism.

The perfect combination of 2 UDL 2.2kW mechanical speed variators and WPDX 120 worm gearbox with a 3-stage design helps achieve deep and stable speed reduction. This is a top choice for industrial mixers, conveyor systems, and heavy-duty presses.
