WPDX 100 Worm Gearbox

The WPDX 100 worm gearbox is a large-scale industrial product line featuring a right-angle input and output shaft design, specialized for machinery systems requiring stable transmission, high torque, and high precision with a sturdy structure and superior load-bearing capacity. Let’s join Thanh Thai Motor to learn in detail about the structure of this gearbox product and the applications trusted by many enterprises in heavy industries.

Overview Design of WPDX 100 Worm Gearbox

The WPDX 100 gearbox belongs to the right-angle industrial gearbox series, featuring a solid cast-iron housing structure that offers good load-bearing capacity and effective impact resistance. The input and output shafts are designed at a right angle, making it convenient for direct installation with a 3-phase electric motor.

The worm gearbox combined directly with an electric motor forms a gear motor which is widely applied in conveyor systems, mixers, presses, packaging machines, water treatment systems, etc.

Internal Structure of WPDX Worm Gearbox

• Worm shaft: Made from high-grade alloy steel, heat-treated and precision-ground to increase hardness and wear resistance.
• Worm gear: Manufactured from bronze alloy, meshing perfectly with the worm shaft to ensure stable transmission, reduced wear, and low noise.
• Meshing mechanism: The worm shaft meshes directly with the worm gear, generating high torque and effectively reducing rotational speed.
• Lubrication system: Internal lubricating oil helps reduce friction and cool down during operation, extending equipment lifespan.

Technical Specifications of WPDX 100 Worm Gearbox

Below is a summary table of the core technical specifications of the WPDX 100 model for your easy comparison and selection. The WPDX 100 worm gearbox features a side hollow input shaft design and a downward-facing solid output shaft, and can be installed with a 3-phase electric motor 1.1kW 1.5Hp or a 3-phase electric motor 1.5kW 2Hp.

Applications of WPDX 100 Worm Gearbox

The WPDX 100 gearbox is used in many industrial systems and machinery, especially applications requiring heavy loads and continuous operation:

• Heavy industry: Coal conveyors, concrete mixers, presses, steel rolling mills.
• Food industry: Flour mixers, packaging machines, raw material grinders.
• Manufacturing industry: Lifting systems, CNC cutting machines, lathes.
• Agriculture sector: Automatic irrigation systems, harvesters, fertilizer mixers.
• Environmental treatment industry: Sludge dewatering presses, wastewater treatment systems.

Guide on How to Add Oil to Worm Gearboxes

Below is an ultra-concise 3-step guide on adding and changing gearbox oil, helping readers grasp the procedure as quickly as possible:

• Step 1 – Drain old oil: Ensure the power supply is disconnected. Open the drain plug at the bottom of the gearbox to completely drain out the old oil and sediment, then tightly screw the drain plug back on. (Note: Skip this step if it is a new gearbox, simply add oil).
• Step 2 – Add new oil and check the level: Remove the oil filler plug on top of the gearbox and slowly pour in new oil. While pouring, constantly observe the oil sight glass on the side. Stop adding immediately when the oil level reaches the standard mark right in the middle (1/2) of the sight glass (do not overfill or underfill).
• Step 3 – Seal and clean: Tightly screw back the top oil filler plug to seal the system, preventing dust and moisture from entering. Use a cloth to wipe away any spilled oil on the housing and you are finished.

The WPDX 100 worm gearbox possesses a durable solid cast-iron structure that provides superior load-bearing capacity for steel rolling mill systems or concrete mixing equipment requiring high torque.
