Worm Gearbox WPX 175

Worm Gearbox WPX 175 is a large industrial drive unit, a gearbox used specifically to reduce rotational speed and increase torque. With a sturdy design, stable operation, and high adaptability, the product ensures stable and smooth transmission performance in harsh working environments. This is an ideal choice for large production lines, lifting machinery, heavy-duty conveyors, and specialized mechanical systems.

General design of Worm Gearbox WPX 175

The worm gearbox features a one-piece design with a high-strength cast iron housing, perfectly protecting the internal drive components. The input-output shaft structure is arranged perpendicularly, suitable for limited installation spaces. The exterior is coated with electrostatic paint to resist corrosion and keep the equipment durable in harsh environments. In addition, when combined with an electric motor, it forms a gear motor drive system that is stable, powerful, and energy-efficient.

Structure of Worm Gearbox WPX 175

The worm and worm gear mechanism operates smoothly, suitable for environments requiring high quietness.

• Housing: Cast from solid cast iron, offering high durability, good load-bearing capacity, and impact resistance.
• Worm shaft: Machined from hard alloy steel, capable of withstanding wear and heavy loads over long periods.
• Worm gear: Made of bronze alloy to facilitate smooth transmission, reduce noise, and improve operating efficiency.
• Bearings and oil seals: Protect the drive system from oil leakage and dust, increasing equipment durability.
• Drive mechanism: Components are precisely assembled, ensuring high mesh accuracy and stable, continuous torque transmission.

Technical specifications of Worm Gearbox WPX 175

Worm Gearbox WPX 175 can be installed flexibly with various types of machinery and motors, suitable for many industrial sectors. It can be paired with a 3-phase electric motor 7.5kW 10Hp via a pulley, coupling, etc., through a 45mm input shaft and a 65mm output shaft.

Applications of Worm Gearbox WPX 175

• Heavy industry: Used for conveyors, crushers, presses, and lifting equipment requiring high torque.
• Building materials production: Integrated into concrete mixers, cement agitators, and raw material mixers.
• Mechanical engineering – manufacturing: Used in mechanical processing machines, lathes, CNC cutting machines, etc.
• Water treatment and environmental systems: Suitable for pumps, aeration systems, or conveyors in wastewater treatment plants.
• Automated production lines: Applied in packaging, food processing, bottling, and canning.

Guide on how to add oil to WPX worm gearbox

Adding the correct type and proper amount of oil plays a decisive role in the durability of the WPX worm gearbox. Below are the standard technical steps:

• Determine the position: Open the breather plug (located at the top of the gearbox) to add oil and check the oil level through the oil sight glass (usually located on the side).
• Check oil level: Ensure the oil level is always within the specified range on the oil sight glass. Insufficient oil will cause the worm gear to suffer from dry friction and overheating; excess oil can lead to leakage through the oil seal.
• Add oil: Slowly pour oil into the breather hole until the required oil level is reached.
• Check for leaks: After filling, tighten the plugs and run a test start of the equipment for a few minutes to check smoothness and ensure there is no oil leakage.

With outstanding advantages in durability, smooth operation, and powerful torque performance, Worm Gearbox WPX 175 is the optimal drive solution for large-scale industrial machinery systems.
