Explosion-proof Motor 0.8kW 1Hp

The Explosion-Proof Motor 0.8kW 1HP is a specialized device capable of converting electrical energy into mechanical energy, serving machinery systems to operate safely in harsh environments, especially places with high explosion risks. Let’s explore the details of the explosion-proof motor line (explosion-proof motor / flameproof motor) and the outstanding advantages the product brings!

Overview design of the Explosion-Proof Motor 0.8kW 1HP

The Explosion-Proof Motor 0.8kW 1HP belongs to the explosion-proof motor line under 3.7kW, built with a thick cast iron housing to protect internal components from impacts and environmental influences.

With this design, the motor has good heat resistance and ensures safety when operating in harsh conditions. In particular, this explosion-proof motor also has explosion-prevention capabilities, fully meeting safety requirements in the event of an electrical short circuit.

Internal structure of the Explosion-Proof Motor 0.8kW 1HP

The internal components of the device are manufactured according to explosion-proof safety standards to minimize risks during continuous operation.

• Stator: The magnetic core is made of technical steel sheets to reduce power loss. The internal wound copper wire has Class F standard insulation, maintaining stable performance when temperature increases.
• Rotor: The squirrel-cage rotating shaft is made of solid steel alloy. This component is dynamically balanced on a computer to reduce physical centrifugal friction and prevent electrical sparks when rotating.
• Bearings: The motor shaft uses industrial bearings integrated with dust covers and high-temperature resistant grease, helping the rotating shaft maintain long-term stability.
• Cooling system: The cooling fan attached to the shaft end uses antistatic plastic material, preventing electrical discharge when the fan operates in a dusty environment.

Which gearbox does the explosion-proof motor 0.8kW 1Hp combine with?

To change the pulling force, technicians need to assemble the 0.8kW motor with compatible mechanical drive gearboxes (gearboxes).

• Helical gearbox: Inline R17, R27 oil-immersed series are used to drive small conveyors.
• Worm gearbox: NMRV hollow shaft codes size 40 or size 50 combined with the motor for light lifting mechanisms.
• Drive coupling: Use heavy-duty rubber couplings or metal couplings with rubber pads to minimize the risk of spark generation due to friction.

Wiring guide for explosion-proof motors

It is necessary to follow the 5 operations below to ensure safety and meet technical standards:

Step 1: Disconnect power and check the nameplate

First, it is mandatory to trip the circuit breaker to cut off the grid power. Observe the motor video and read the parameters printed on the housing to determine the voltage level, thereby preparing the cable size accurately.

Step 2: Open the terminal box cover

Use a wrench to remove the bolts to lift off the cover (with the letter “EX” embossed) outside. Pay attention to operate carefully so as not to displace or tear the rubber gasket at the box edge.

Step 3: Identify the copper terminals

Look inside the box, find the exact 3 contact terminals marked U, V, and W. It is necessary to check whether the copper bars are connected in a star or delta circuit to match the power supply.

Step 4: Secure the power cable and grounding

Crimp cable lugs for the 3 cables and connect them directly to terminals U, V, W. The mandatory requirement is to tighten the nuts tightly to completely eliminate the risk of electric sparks, then connect an additional cable to the grounding position.

Step 5: Reinstall the protective cover

Place the box cover tightly against the rubber gasket and evenly tighten the bolts at the corners. If you want to see how to wire other industrial devices, please refer to the compilation videos released by Thanh Thai Motor.
