UDL 2-Stage WPDO 120 Gear Motor 2.2kW

The 2-stage UDL 2.2kW – WPDO 120 gear motor is a gear motor combining two devices: a gearbox (specifically a 2-stage gearbox) combined with an electric motor. This structure helps the device generate strong pulling force, deep deceleration, smooth operation, and maintain efficient heat dissipation capabilities. The product is particularly suitable for conveyors, agitators and mixers, material winders and pullers, and factory automation lines.

Overview of 2-Stage UDL 2.2kW – WPDO 120 Gear Motor

This is a 3-phase electric motor with a compact design that allows installation in space-constrained areas while ensuring stability. The flange is manufactured according to international standards, making the product compatible with various electric motor lines, facilitating system upgrading or maintenance.

Structure of UDL – WPDO 2-Stage Gear Motor

The 2-stage UDL 2.2kW – WPDO 120 gear motor is assembled from a 3-phase electric motor 2.2kW 3Hp and a 2-stage UDL 2.2kW – WPDO 120 gearbox. Its detailed structure consists of:

Electric motor structure:

• Stator: The stationary part of the motor, made of laminated steel cores and wound with pure copper wire to ensure maximum efficiency and durability.
• Rotor: The rotating part of the motor, made of pressed silicon steel sheets, providing load-bearing capacity and good torque generation.
• Bearing: The ball bearing system helps stabilize rotational movement, reduce friction, and withstand axial and radial loads.
• Cooling fan: Installed at the rear of the rotor to create airflow to cool the stator and rotor, helping the motor operate long-term without overheating.

Gearbox structure:

• Stage 1 – Mechanical speed variator 2.2kW 3Hp changes the input speed using a friction mechanism or gears before transmitting it to the next stage.
• Stage 2 – Worm gearbox, specifically the WPDO 120 worm gearbox made of solid, rugged, and durable cast iron, combined with an electrostatic paint layer to prevent rust
• Input shaft – output shaft: The input shaft receives power from the motor; the output shaft transmits the decelerated power to the driven machine.

Technical Specifications of WPDO 120 Gearbox

Playing the role of transmitting torque and reducing output speed, the WPDO gearbox needs to be selected in accordance with the operating requirements of each system. The technical information below will assist users in the process of comparing and selecting equipment.

Applications of 2-Stage UDL 2.2kW – WPDO 120 Gear Motor

The 2-stage UDL 2.2kW – WPDO 120 gear motor includes the following basic applications:

• Conveyor systems in manufacturing and goods transportation industries.
• Mixers and agitators requiring speed changes according to each operational stage.
• Packaging and processing lines requiring stable speed and flexible adjustment.
• Presses, stamping machines, and extruders requiring high torque.
• Light lifting equipment in warehouses and workshops.
• Food processing machinery such as stirrers, dough mixers, and metering machines.
• Wood, plastic, and metal processing lines using medium to low speeds but requiring strong pulling force.
• Dryers and feeders with customizable speeds depending on the input material.

How to Install an Electric Motor with Mechanical Speed Variator and WPDO to Form a 2-Stage Gear Motor

To create a complete and flexible 2-stage WPDO gear motor system, follow these steps:

• Step 1: Install the electric motor onto the mechanical speed variator
  • Align and couple the flange/output shaft of the 3-phase electric motor to fit the input shaft of the UDL B5 mechanical speed variator.
  • Use tools to tighten the screws around the flange to securely fix these two components together.
• Step 2: Install the mechanical speed variator assembly onto the WPDO gearbox
  • Continue to couple the flange/output shaft of the (just assembled) mechanical speed variator unit to the input shaft of the WPDX gearbox.
  • Tighten the bolts/screws at the connecting flange to secure the mechanical speed variator to the gearbox.
• Step 3: Completion and Inspection
  • Recheck all connection points and screws to ensure that the trio (Motor – Mechanical Speed Variator – Gearbox) is coaxially and securely linked.
  • At this point, you have completed the assembly of a complete 2-stage WPDO gear motor set.

The international standard flanged connection design on the 2-stage UDL 2.2kW – WPDO 120 gear motor facilitates the swapping or upgrading of electric motors according to workshop requirements. The mechanical control knob on the UDL body helps technicians finely adjust the output speed smoothly, preventing load-jerking phenomena that affect the quality of finished products.
