2-Stage UDL 1.5kW – WPDO 80 Gear Motor

The 2-Stage UDL 1.5kW – WPDO 80 Gear Motor is a gear motor line combined from 2 devices: a gearbox, specifically a 2-stage gearbox, combined with an electric motor, specifically a 3-phase electric motor. Thanks to its durable construction, high efficiency, and flexible speed adjustment capabilities, the UDL – WPDO 80 gear motor is widely applied in conveyors, mixers, feeding systems, packaging lines, and various automated equipment requiring stable transmission.

Overview design of the 2-Stage UDL 1.5kW – WPDO 80 Gear Motor

The 2-stage UDL 1.5kW – WPDO 80 gear motor features a large gear ratio and high torque. With a compact design and durable cast iron housing, it operates stably in industrial environments. The optimized cooling system ensures continuous operation. It is suitable for conveyors, mixers, and drive mechanisms requiring strong pulling force.

Detailed structure of the 2-Stage UDL 1.5kW – WPDO 80 Gear Motor

The 2-Stage UDL 1.5kW – WPDO 80 Gear Motor belongs to the 1.1kW to 3.7kW gear motor category, structured from a 3 phase 1.5kW 2Hp electric motor assembled with a 2-stage UDL 1.5kW – WPDO 80 gearbox with the following structure:

Electric motor structure:

• The motor housing is designed with spiral ribs to allow cooling airflow to circulate more evenly, enhancing heat dissipation and reducing localized heating over long periods of operation.
• The rotor is made of high-pressure die-cast aluminum-copper alloy, dynamically balanced with precision to minimize vibration when rotating at high speeds.
• The steel shaft is coated with a protective layer to increase durability when connected to a pulley, transmission, or gearbox.
• The bearing assembly is installed in a sealed chamber, reducing noise and preventing dust ingress, helping the motor operate more smoothly and durably.

Gearbox structure:

• Stage 1 – The 1.5kW 2Hp mechanical speed variator changes the input speed using a friction mechanism or gears before transmitting it to the next stage.
• Stage 2 – The worm gearbox, specifically the WPDO 80 worm gearbox made of solid cast iron, is sturdy and durable, combined with an electrostatic paint layer to prevent rust.
• Input shaft – output shaft: The input shaft receives power from the motor; the output shaft transmits the decelerated power to the driven machine.
• Gearbox housing: Cast iron/cast aluminum housing enclosing the transmission, increasing rigidity and reducing vibration.

• Conveyor turntable systems – workstation rotation tables
• Packaging pullers – mold product ejector machines
• Spiral material feeding components
• Reversing rotation systems in drying equipment – drying machines

How to install an electric motor with a mechanical speed variator and WPDO gearbox to form a 2-stage gear motor

Proper technical combination not only helps the equipment operate smoothly but also extends the lifespan of the entire production line. Below is the precise procedure for installing an electric motor with a mechanical speed variator and WPDO gearbox:

• Stage 1: First, you proceed to align and flange-connect the 3-phase electric motor to the power input shaft (input shaft) of the UDL B5 mechanical speed variator. Shaft synchronization helps these two devices fit tightly together. Use specialized tools to tighten the screws to ensure no vibration during operation.
• Stage 2: Transmission system installation. After having the motor – variator assembly, you continue to bring the output flange of the mechanical speed variator close to the WPDO gearbox. Carefully couple the shaft ends and tighten the bolts on the gearbox flange.
• Stage 3: Completion. With just the two basic steps above, you have successfully assembled the 2-stage reduction system, ready to meet flexible speed variation requirements in industrial production.

The synchronous combination of the UDL speed variator and WPDO 80 gearbox provides extremely flexible speed control for packaging lines and automated feeding systems. Thanks to the stepless speed variation mechanism, operators can easily change the rotation speed of the workstation or conveyor with just a gentle turn, bringing absolute proactiveness in every stage.
